This is Part One of the Voices of East End radio documentary made by Roshi Nasehi and Graham Dowdall with the fern St Singers - a group of elderly East Londoners who have been meeting and singing with Roshi for several years. We felt that this group represented a generation who had withstood the Blitz and witnessed enormous changes in East London and we wanted to record their stories and the songs that meant a lot to them, for posterity. The local council has withdrawn funding for this group so we have decided to make the documentary available for download to make contribution to the continued funding of this creative lifeline for a generation to whom we, as contemporary Londoners owe so much. Feel free to donate as much as you can and do enjoy listening to their personal tales, evocative singing, uncrushable spirit and the chinking of teacups.

As you might guess from the title, this is strange and eerie synth music meant to conjure a mystical film where all is not what it seems. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 14, 2023
